Account Executive


Location: Chicago, IL (303 E Wacker Dr., Suite 2200/location flexible)

“Location flexible” denotes the position can be located in any of the states where Intersport is authorized to do business.** Some roles, however, may have to be co-located with their teams in certain locations. Intersport, a leader in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle marketing and media for more than three decades, provides expertise in the areas of:

  • Agency Services: sponsorship consulting, experiential marketing, hospitality, content, digital, and social media marketing
  • Assets – owned-and-operated media properties and live sports and lifestyle properties

Intersport is seeking to add a smart and driven marketer to its Agency Services team. The Agency Services team is integral to providing existing clients with a variety of solutions to help them reach their business and brand objectives. The Account Executive (AE) should have a minimum of two years’ experience is responsible for all aspects of program management and execution for the client they are assigned and ensures that work is provided in a high-quality, timely, cost effective manner. An AE is expected to assist on various aspects of a piece of business as well as lead select program deliverables. The AE should be someone seeking ownership and corresponding accountability for responsibilities in spanning hospitality and event planning for a blue chip financial services firm.

Client Management & Communication

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding and a passion for his/her clients’ industry, business, consumer and brands, including an understanding of their competitive set and industry while updating them on industry trends and best practices
  • Establishing himself/herself as a trusted strategic business partner to the client and agency partners
  • Demonstrates mature presence in meetings and client interaction
  • Lead coordination and administration of regular conference calls

Program & Project Management

  • Creates and maintains administrative documents in a clear, concise and detailed manner for client and agency backup including points of view, recaps, reporting, agendas, and timelines
  • Manages the creative and production briefing process
  • Accountable for managing legal process such as contract administration
  • Produces research and competitive analysis
  • Actively contributes in brainstorming and idea generation sessions with cross-functional teams

Event Execution

  • Plans, sells-in, manages, and executes live events and the corresponding client communication and event production
    • Client events include mostly bespoke B2C high-touch events with VIP hospitality, client and partner experience trips, talent meet-and-greets, etc.
  • Accountable for managing event-related strategy development
  • Leads on-site program execution including concierge services, staff training, troubleshooting and reporting
  • Occasional travel (including over holidays and weekends) and evening/weekend work is required

Budget & Financial Management

  • Supports development of program budgets and management of those budgets to achieve client needs and remain on targeted budget
  • Provides clear, timely and accurate financial reporting (e.g. invoicing, reconciliation, etc.)

Team Management

  • Works collaboratively with all members of integrated internal and external teams
  • Helps train/provide feedback to junior team members

Creative Production & Asset Creation

  • Lead development of creative for social assets by building a library of highly visual, compelling and evergreen branded content that can be used to fuel brand’s social media channels throughout the year
  • Collaborate with internal Production and Creative Services teams on content creation to ensure consistency with the brand’s messaging priorities, goals, and aesthetic

Reporting and Analysis

  • Evaluate individual programs to advise client on areas of improvement, performance metrics tied to mutually agreed-upon goals, key learnings, competitive analysis, and new opportunities
  • Program optimization and measurement for overall strategies, as well as campaign-specific initiatives

Team Management

  • Work collaboratively with all members of integrated team
  • Help train/provide feedback to junior team members



  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in a marketing role at an agency, brand, media company, sports or entertainment property, or related organization
  • Strong understanding of and interest in hospitality and event planning
  • Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail oriented and organized approach
  • Well-rounded, creative thinker
  • Strong in account planning, as well as project management
  • Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work at a fast pace
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive, team player with a strong work ethic
  • Previous experience with daily contact with clients and support teams
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to travel for business on trips typically lasting between two to five days but sometimes longer
  • Polished, professional demeanor, projects confidence and enthusiasm for the business
